A hand-held punching machine is a manually operated tool that is used to punch holes in a variety of sheet materials. It is sometimes known as a “punch press”.
What are hand-held punching machines used for?
Hand-held punching machines come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. There are also types which may look very different to others. However, they are all used to punch holes in sheet materials.
They are often used for industrial maintenance tasks including roofing, metal working, false ceiling installation, leather work and riveting.
Industrial hand-held punching machines are sometimes used for drywalling (plasterboard) applications, such as installing corner beads. Corner beads are metal strips that protect the corner joint between two pieces of plasterboard. Although most corner beads come with various holes and perforations in them, it is often the case that you’ll need one in a specific place. This is where a hole punch comes in handy.
