Manual coating sprayers (also known as spraying machines or applicators) are tools used specifically for applying various types of coatings to walls.
The manual coating sprayer is filled with the type of wall covering (mix) to be used, then pointed at the wall area to be covered. The handle is then rotated clockwise, which causes the machine to ‘throw’ the mix onto the wall.
Manual coating sprayers can be quite tiring to use (rotating that handle all day), so most people prefer to use air-operated sprayers for larger jobs.
However, manual coatings sprayers are ideal on smaller areas such as patchwork or repair work. This is because they can be quickly filled with mix, don’t need to be hooked up to an air compressor and are cheaper to operate compared with air sprayers. They can be used for both interior and exterior walls.
Some professional plasterers or renderers prefer manual sprayers over air sprayers and won’t use anything else but the manual one, even on large jobs!
