Although most brick rakes have the same basic design, there are lots of slight variations.

“Mortar joint raker” – the ball on the end of many brick rake handles such as this one is an aesthetic feature rather than functional.
The only difference among brick rakes is the handle design. Some, with a curved handle design, work as a brick joint trowel smoothing out freshly laid mortar between the bricks. Whereas the actual body of the tool, the pin and the wheels, are all pretty much the same on any type of brick rake!
